Timaru of around 27,000 is centrally situated on New Zealand’s South Island East Coast offering a stopover to all other interesting attractions like Mount Cook, Queenstown, Dunedin and most others.  We are just over 150 years old and our heritage can be discovered by exploring our unique town.

Eating place of your choice, cafes, ale houses, restaurants, pub meals – it is all there

Timaru Port of close proximity with our exports, lamb, timber all products from the area

Snow sports, ski and snow boarding fields, six 2-3 hours away, even skating and snow tobogganing.

Scenery – changes just in short distances, undulating farmlands to high country stations

Mt Cook can be viewed from Blueberry Cottage B&B and various places throughout Timaru.

Walkways are numerous and being a beachfront setting some are often commented on from Blueberry Cottage guests.  A mother whale and her calf have been seen from Blueberry Cottage and Orcas occasionally too.  Botanic Gardens and our Scenic Reserve offer walks or bike rides for all

We love living here, with the spectacular Ocean to Alps sensational views, central situation, sport activities, good food, craft products and much more
